Errands and Shopping
The shop, the chemist, the post office.
Our errands and shopping service assists individuals with tasks outside the home, such as grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions, and other necessary errands. We ensure all items are carefully selected and meet your specific requirements.

Questions people ask
- How does paying for the shopping work?
- The shopping is yours, so the money for it is yours too. Exactly how it is handled gets agreed with you when we come out, and written down, so nobody is guessing at the door and nobody feels awkward about it.
- Can you go to the shop I always use?
- Yes. Tell us which one and we go there. People have their reasons (the butcher who knows them, the aisle they can picture, the shop the bus goes past), and swapping it for whatever is nearest to us rather defeats the point.
- Will the chemist hand my prescription over to somebody else?
- Usually, though some want to hear it from you first. If yours does, we will tell you what they have asked for and you can sort it with them in a two-minute phone call, and it only ever needs doing once.
- I would rather go myself. Can you just come along?
- That is a lot of people, and it is often the better arrangement. You keep the bit you enjoy (choosing, having a look round, a word with whoever is on the till), and we take the bit that has got hard, which is usually the lifting and the standing.
Not sure yet? These might help
- How do I know when someone needs help at home?
The changes families usually notice first, what each one tends to mean, and the smallest thing you can do about it.
- Paying for care at home in Wolverhampton: where to start
The free council assessment most people never ask for, the savings limits that decide who pays, and the benefit that is not means-tested. Written for Wolverhampton, with the figures dated.
- Looking after someone else: help for family carers
You are entitled to an assessment of your own needs, free, whatever the person you care for decides. Here is what that means and what else is available.
How it works
Have a chat
Give us a ring or send us a message and tell us what you’re finding difficult. There’s no obligation, and nothing to sign. If it’s urgent, say so: we can sometimes start straight away.
Your first visit is free
We come out to you at home, meet you properly, and write down together exactly what help you want and when. There’s no charge for that visit whether or not you go ahead.
Your assistant starts
Your assistant starts visiting on the days and times we’ve agreed together, and we stay in touch to make sure it’s working for you.
